What does it mean to be 50, what do people make of us white 50 year old men? Is IT beyond me? I think it probably is.

Feet on Seats
I do not want to sit next to a gangly youths sued shoes, plonked on the seat next to mine on the train. Why do they have to put the feet on the seats on trains? And then compound the problem by telling his friend that he omitted to put on deoderant? Ok so his enterprising friend then produced a can of Lynx from his bag, only to spray himself, his friend and me. I'd rather suffer BO for one train trip than Lynx for a whole day!

Geography
Two people aged about 24 and neither knew Kings Lynn was in Norfolk, how can that be? It is beyond me. They can both name the winners of Big Brother in sequence and have the track list to Lilly Allen's album of pack, so they are not stupid. The most worrying thing is that they don't think its an issue. Now granted I can't give you the county name for every town in the UK but you know what I could have a bit of a stab because I bet I can point to most major town on an out line of the UK. Its the excuses that really get me, " I'm from up north" well I am from down south but I can point to Nottingham.

SO...
I am 50, it was my birthday on May 7th 2009 and I have reached that milestone. Now what? Is it 50 and beyond or is it 50 and beyond me? I guess the latter because...
I have more drive at 50 than most of the 20 year olds who work for me.
I know more about computers than anyone in my office yet they all treat me like I listen to a wireless and don't know an wii from a wee or a twit from a tweet.
I also seem to have a capacity for detail over and above almost anyone under 35. This makes me think they are a pain in the arse and makes them think I am an old fart. The fact is they don't seem to care, I do and I am, of course, right.
